Application Eligibility: According to the notification, candidates must have passed SSC or equivalent examination to apply for this post.
age: Candidates age should be between minimum 18 and maximum 21 years as on 01-12-2022. Only in case of children of freedom fighters or martyred freedom fighters, the age should be 18 to 32 years on the same date.
Physical Qualification: male Candidates height should be at least 1.67 meters, chest should be at least 81.28 cm. And the weight should be at least 52 kg. On the other hand, woman Candidates height at least 1.57 meters, chest 76.81 cm. Mr. And the weight should be at least 45 kg.
Candidate must be permanent citizen of Bangladesh and unmarried. The candidate can apply for this post only as a candidate of the district in which he is a permanent resident.

Required Documents: At the time of appearing for the physical measurement test, the candidate should bring the original copy of each certificate along with 1 additional attested photocopy. Apart from this, original copy of educational qualification certificate or provisional certificate, original copy of character certificate issued by the head of the last educational institution, original copy of permanent citizenship certificate from Union Parishad Chairman or City Corporation or Municipal Mayor or Ward Commissioner as proof of permanent resident of the district along with application form filled in model form. , original copy of national identity card, 4 copies of newly taken passport size attested photograph along with necessary documents mentioned in the notification should be brought along.
Selection Procedure: Candidates will first have to attend the Physical Measurement Test. Candidates who clear the physical test will have to attend the written test of 70 marks of 1 hour 30 minutes on the same day. Regarding the written exam, the Assistant Inspector General of Prisons (Administration) of the Directorate of Prisons, Mohammad Abdullah Al Mamun, said, “Since the educational qualification for this post is SSC pass, the quality of the questions of the SSC pass will be the same as the questions of the written exam.” He also said that the written test will have four subjects – Bengali, English, Mathematics and General Knowledge. Candidates who have cleared the written test will have to participate in the oral test of 30 marks again. A minimum of 45 percent marks should be obtained in both the examinations separately. However, the candidates will be initially selected based on the quota based merit order against the actual vacancies available in the district.
Responsibilities of this profession: A prison guard has to work with utmost dedication and sincerity. They have to work with the prisoners who come to the jail. The prison guards have to ensure that the prisoners inside the jail do not engage in any kind of misdeeds. Apart from this, the prison guards help in various ways by distributing food among the prisoners and treating the prisoners. It is the duty of the prison guards to correct the wrongs done by the inmates by giving them good behavior and educational information to make them good people.
Salary and Benefits: A jail guard who is finally selected will be paid in the scale of Tk 9 thousand as per National Pay Scale 2015. Apart from this, other benefits including allowances as per rules will be available. A Jailer can be promoted to Assistant Head Jailer, Head Jailer, Chief Jailer, Surgeon Inspector by his skills and qualifications and through various departmental examinations.
