Recruitment Test procedure for BCS (cadre) posts
Today we are going to talk about detailed BCS syllabus and full number distribution. According to the BCS (Age, Eligibility and Direct Recruitment Test) Rules – 2014 formulated for taking the recruitment test in the Bangladesh Civil Service, the Commission has taken a three-level test to recruit suitable candidates in the following 27 cadres of BCS.

BCS’s three-step test procedure
According to the provisions of the BCS (Age, Eligibility and Direct Recruitment) Rules-2014, the Government Action Commission accepts the following six level recruitment tests to nominate suitable candidates in the Bangladesh Civil Service.
First Level: 200 marks MCQ Type Preliminary Test.
Second Level: Written Test 900 marks for the successful candidates in the Preliminary Test.
Level 3: The 200 marks oral test for the candidates who have passed the written test.
First Level: 200 marks MCQ Type Preliminary Test
Due to the huge number of candidates in the vacant posts, the MCQ Type Preliminary Test is conducted by the Bangladesh Government Action Commission, Rule 2014 of the BCS (Age, Eligibility and Direct Recruitment Test) section -7 for selection of suitable candidates through written examination. Preliminary tests were taken at 100 marks till the 34th BCS exam. Under the provisions of BCS Test Rule-2014, the 200 marks MCQ Type Preliminary Test has been introduced in 2 hours from the 35th BCS test on 10 subjects.

Detailed Syllabus of Preliminary Test
Level 2: Written Test 900 marks (average pass number 50%)
Candidates who have been declared successful by the Commission in the Preliminary Test are required to participate in the Written Test of 900 marks. According to the prescribed educational qualification, the 27 cadres are divided into two general cadre and technical / professional cadre.
A. Written exams of 900 marks for candidates for general cadre.
B. Written Examination of 900 marks for Technical / Professional Cadre Candidates.

Detailed syllabus of written test
Examination of terms related to the job
Candidates who will be given preference for both general and technical / professional cadre positions are required to give written examination of the relevant subject 900 marks for the general cadre, or relevant subject 200 marks for the service.
Level 3: BCS Exam Level 200 (Pass Number 50%)
Candidates who have passed the BCS written exam are required to take part in the oral test of number 200. Oral examination is 50%.
